About me and my art
Giovanni Merola faces the challenges of our time and skillfully transforms them into images with existentialist pretensions. With the help of the colours he uses and the changes in perspective, he succeeds in a very empathetic way in stimulating people to reflect on the consequences of their actions for the future. His artistic work is supported by his vigilant gaze on the present and by a profoundly humanistic worldview.
Giovanni Merola is a contemporary Italian artist who has lived in Austria for many years. Since he was very young he has expressed his curiosity and interest in drawing. From his childhood he was fascinated by classical art and later by surrealism. He attended the art school of Valdagno (VI) and then arrived at the Accademia Cignaroli in Verona after various artistic experiences. Moved by his need for intellectual inner introspection, he eventually approached current issues, which he authentically expresses in his painting. This is characterized by its experimental approach and its continuous research of new color combinations. His contemporary and above all very figurative surrealist paintings are made with the technique of oil on canvas. In painting he continues to evolve and also experimented with digital art.
