Regina Ahlgrimm-Siess

Regina Ahlgrimm-Siess ist Kunsthistorikerin und autodidakte Malerin. Die Liebe zum Malen entwickelte sie bereits in der Schulzeit durch Förderung ihrer Lehrerin und Wiener Malerin Erika Wolf-Rubenzer. Nach ihrer Studienzeit lernte sie den steirischen Maler Kurt Edelsbrunner kennen, der sie 1997 zu großformatiger Acrylmalerei anregte. Mit Pinsel und Spachtel hat sie über die Jahre zu einem Malstil in Schichten gefunden, der für eine Tiefendimension in ihren Bildern sorgt. "Für mich bedeutet Malen innere Freiheit. Das Schönste am Malprozess ist, dass ich dabei Zeit und Raum vergesse, ganz im kreativen Tun bin. Malen ist für mich eine Form der höchsten Konzentration und Intuition." ​Seit 1999 übernimmt Ahlgrimm-Siess Auftragsarbeiten für Privatpersonen und Firmen. In der Zeit des ersten Lockdowns der Coronapandemie 2020 startete die Malerin die Arbeit an spartenübergreifenden Kunstprojekten im Team mit Vertreter:innen aus den Bereichen Musik und Literatur. "Der plötzliche Stillstand während des ersten Lockdowns hat gerade für viele Kreative neue Räume geöffnet für künstlerische Auseinandersetzung mit dem Ungewissen, mit Ängsten, aber auch mit Hoffnung, Zuversicht und Chancendenken. In dieser Zeit begann die Arbeit am ersten Kunstprojekt." Regina Ahlgrimm-Siess is a painter from Austria (Graz). The love for painting developed already in her school years through encouragement of her teacher and Viennese painter Erika Wolf-Rubenzer. After her art history studies, she met the Styrian painter Kurt Edelsbrunner, who encouraged her to paint large-format acrylics in 1997. Using brush and palette knife, she has found over the years a style of painting in layers that provides a depth in her paintings. "For me, painting means inner freedom. The most beautiful thing about the painting process is that I forget time and space, am completely caught up in the creative act. Painting for me is a form of the highest concentration and intuition." Since 1999, Ahlgrimm-Siess has taken on commissioned work for private individuals and companies. During the first lockdown of the 2020 corona pandemic, the painter starts working on cross-disciplinary art projects as a team with representatives from the fields of music and literature. "The sudden standstill during the first lockdown opened up new spaces for artistic engagement with the uncertain, with fears, but also with hope, confidence and thoughts about opportunities. It was during this time that work was starting to be put in the first art project."
