I am Leila Fazlikhani, a visual artist and graphic designer. For me, painting is a way to cross the boundaries of reality and enter the realm of imagination a space where emotion, nature, and the unconscious intertwine. My academic background in visual communication and years of experience in graphic design have helped me shape a unique visual language, through which I create a surreal and poetic world. My journey in art has been largely self-taught filled with exploration, intuition, experimentation, and discovery. My work often revolves around emotional themes, feminine identity, and the subtle, sometimes hidden, connection between humans and nature not through direct narration or depiction, but through symbolism, dreamlike elements, and metaphor. In my practice, I use techniques such as collage, digital collage, acrylic, mixed media, and texturing to build layers of meaning, feeling, and movement within the image. This diversity of media allows me to create a multidimensional and deeply personal visual space one that invites the viewer to pause, to sense, and to engage in an inner dialogue. What drives me most in my creative process is the human being full of complexity, contradiction, and unseen layers. The human psyche, its fears and dreams, its memories and wounds, are an endless source of inspiration for me. My works seek to reveal these inner realms not in a literal or illustrative way, but through symbolic images, surreal motifs, and fragmented, layered atmospheres. I am drawn to what cannot be seen but can be felt; to that which may appear silent at first glance, but whispers from within the image. I currently live and work in Vienna, continuing to explore and expand the boundaries of my artistic expression. For me, each piece is a doorway into another world a place between silence and sound, between what is and what is still becoming within me.
