Originally from Dublin Ireland, now living in Vienna, Darren Gilbert completed Visual Investigation, Drawing and Fine Art Research in NCAD Dublin in 2007, after working and exhibiting in his local town of Lucan . Since then he has exhibited in a number of exhibitions and galleries, and had the pleasure of presenting The President of Ireland and his wife with a piece to commemorate their visit to Vienna in 2022.
His work moves between drawing and painting, sometimes bordering the two styles, or contains elements of both due to the visual investigative and experimental approach.
This leads to finished work in various style and medium, either within a series of pieces or as a stand alone piece. His work often reflects and asking question of modern society and living.
