Elisabeth Johanna John (EJS) Born in 1988, grew up in Gailtal, Carinthia.
Elisabeth Johanna John, born Elisabeth Johanna Scheiber, spent her childhood surrounded by nature in the Gailtal valley in Carinthia. Influenced by her summers on the alpine pastures, where she developed a deep connection to nature and animals through her parents' dairy farming activities, she developed the desire to become an artist at an early age. Nevertheless, her path initially led her to the vocational school for goldsmithing and engraving in Ferlach.
Her education was followed by several moves, a marriage and the birth of her two daughters. However, after the end of this unhappy marriage, she returned to the Gailtal valley as a single mother, where she rediscovered her love of painting. She deepened her artistic skills through self-study and took on private commissions.
Elisabeth Johanna John has lived in the Klagenfurt basin since 2021 and has been a student at the Free Academy of Fine Arts Carinthia since 2022. Her works are in the field of figurative painting, with a particular focus on portraits, animals and landscapes. Her surroundings serve as a constant source of inspiration. Her preferred techniques include watercolour, acrylic and oil painting.
