Gergana Popova, born in Bulgaria, has lived in Vienna since 1996. Writes poetry. 20 poems and 17 drawings were used for the production „Kaleidoscope of Passion“. Started drawing in 2020, during a severe mental illness. Created more than 150 works to date. The ideas for the pictures appear in my dreams. I weave lush, colourful, decorative elements into my drawings. Memories of my old souls. At first I see a wild swirl of colours that slowly form into recognisable structures. When I am awake, I try to realise what I have seen. Because I am self-taught, I act spontaneously and use techniques that I cannot explain or name. Each picture requires its own shapes: sometimes circles, sometimes squares, then again lines, mosaics. I start with a pencil sketch and refine it with thin fineliner strokes. Finally comes the colouring, which follows the dreamed specifications.
