My name is Stiliana Groneva I was born in Bulgaria. I have been drawing since early childhood and this has always been my ambition as a career. I initially attended school in my hometown, and then completed my secondary education at the School of Scenography, Make-up and Costumes for Theatre and Cinema in Plovdiv, Bulgaria. I have been teaching fine arts, technology and entrepreneurship for 35 years. I love experimenting with materials and techniques. My favourite materials are watercolour, tempera and pastel. Thematically, my works relate to life, philosophy and love. My works are a visual diary of inner states, of those moments when the human form dissolves into emotion and thought turns into colour. I work in the space between the figurative and the abstract, where line and colour struggle and embrace simultaneously. In my paintings, the human body is a symbol – it disintegrates, intertwines, is reborn. The eyes, the hands, the heart – these are the centres of sensation through which I explore memory, pain, love and transformation. Colour is my language – it does not describe, but tells. Every line is a trace of movement, every shape – an echo of experience.
