Abstraction means reduction. Details become surfaces, contours become shapes, feelings get colour, even music becomes visible. We alienate reality as we please. Abstraction shows the inner essence, the essentials from the point of view of the artist. In no other subject is there more scope for fantasy and own interpretations.
