The dance of the dahlias

I am Stiliana Groneva I was born in Bulgaria. I have been drawing since early childhood and this has always been my desire for professional realization. I initially attended school in my hometown, and then completed my secondary education at the School of Scenography, Makeup and Costumes for Theater and Cinema in the city of Plovdiv, Bulgaria. I have been teaching fine arts, technology and entrepreneurship for 35 years. I love experimenting with materials and techniques. My favorite materials are watercolor, tempera and pastel. Thematically, my works are related to life, philosophy and love. My works are a visual diary of inner states, of those moments when the human form dissolves into emotion and thought turns into color. I work in the field between the figurative and the abstract, where line and stain struggle and embrace simultaneously. In my paintings, the human body is a symbol – it disintegrates, intertwines, is reborn. The eyes, the hands, the heart – these are the centers of sensation through which I explore memory, pain, love and transformation. Color is my language – it does not describe, but tells. Every line is a trace of movement, every shape – an echo of experience.
