I was born in Algeria, with Italian and Belgian roots (and even more ingredients) and spent my early childhood in Cameroon and Rwanda, then in the Netherlands and Austria. In 1984 I went to Honduras with my parents and finally I returned to Austria. I have been working as a translator for over 20 years and since 2017 I have been devoting myself to my passion, namely art, acrylic painting, drawings and collages. I work self-taught, intuitively and emotionally. My paintings are often not predefined, the themes only crystallise when they are completed. Intense colours reflect the intensity, they offer me many possibilities for expression. Red as the main colour in many works signals passion, fire, emotion and love. Blue brings calm or the unknown into my pictures. The diversity of my visual language is very important to me and so from 2019-2020 I will be expanding my work with collages and drawings. Since 2021 I have also dedicated myself to photography. I have been exhibiting regularly at galleries in Germany and abroad since 2018. My artistic career and my work are characterised by both a dynamic development and the high power of expression. While my work was essentially intuitive at the beginning (acrylic/spatula), it has subsequently been enriched by representational works of the nude and by the means of the sometimes provocative collage and photography, which I also use in a complementary way in my works. What all my works have in common is that the viewer should take the time and space to allow them to have an effect on them. My art should always be something special, inviting the viewer to discover the work and the details of the depiction, to be taken in by the direct nature of the nudes and to recognise the collages in their details right down to the composition. Each work should do something to the viewer. A wonderful connection between the emotional power of the depiction and the consciously or intuitively created detail is very important to me. You see something at first glance, more at second glance, sometimes something different with third parties and when you talk to others, they may have seen something completely different in the works. Playfully touching and powerful as well as emotionally gripping. Anything but arbitrary. At least I hope so!
